The EVETTI (Enhancing VET Textile Innovation) was funded by European Union (EU) via ERASMUS-LS action. The project is a transformative initiative aimed at rejuvenating Uganda's textile industry by addressing longstanding challenges. The project aims to initiate “Farmers Management Infrastructure'' to reach out to smallholder farmers in Africa. As part of the project, In the 2022, YINNOH in partnership with BRIGHTER SMILES organised an online agriculture research-based training whereby 12 of YINNOH scholars and community members, including 2 smallholder farmers in Kenya and 2 smallholder farmers in Zambia were trained on data collection and giving refugees practical training on agriculture and agribusiness.

We collected research data and network with partners in farming industry to develop the capacity of smallholder farmers so they can easier participate in the green and digital global food systems.

Farming management software pilot version (web platform and mobile app), based on research data collected on trip to Zambia, a needs analysis of Zambian farming industry was identified. The project is precursor to the future project that will assist in farming management on and off the field for tracking and recording activities by smallholder farmers.
